Game is unplayable on XBox One after Automation Update

I have just started up Astroneer after the 1.13.121.0 update was automatically applied on the XBox One. I am at a reasonably late-game stage. I have outposts on all the planets, have unlocked all tech and was just beginning the process of opening the Gateways throughout the solar system. My primary base was quite large with many containers for most of the raw and refined material types. However prior to the update the game was totally playable so far as the frame rate went. After the update it is like playing in slow motion, walking through treacle. All movement is probably at 10 frames a second if not less. It makes no difference what planet I am on and indeed travelling through space is just as excruciatingly slow.
As of now the game is totally unplayable. Is this a widespread problem that will be addressed in a new patch?
UPDATE: I can confirm the tip mentioned here and in another thread that disconnecting all 'Medium Soil Cannister' modules from Rover vehicles and disabling their output socket appears to solve the issue. I am not certain if the same bug occurs when they are connected to platforms or containers, however I have disconnected mine from everything for the moment.
FURTHER UPDATE: A little more experimentation has demonstrated the bug seems to occur when two or more "Medium Soil Cannisters" are connected to either a Rover or any storage unit large enough to accept them. If 'Enable Output' is selected for both cannisters the massive slow-down occurs. If only one is enabled everything seems to run as normal. At least this is what I have found.
FINAL WORD: No. I was wrong. The lag seems to occur at any point you have even a single medium soil cannister attached to anything. In fact it seems to persist for a while--perhaps until a new section of the map is loaded--after you unplug them. This becomes especially acute if their 'Enable Output' option is selected. As things stand it is pretty much impossible to use even one cannister on the Bone, at least I found it so. I have collected and shredded all my cannisters, and now use medium silos with small cannisters filling each slot instead. This also incidentally seems to make tunnel-boring a much faster process as well. Clearly there is some kind of serious performance bottleneck associated with the implementation of medium soil cannisters that medium/large resource cannisters do not share.

Nitrado Servers lost my game involving 7 people and a few hundred hours, new save post automation update (xbox one)

There have been many other bugs encountered using System Era's sponsored server host (signed up day 1); most of them we get over with finding workarounds. Now, almost 2 weeks after the incident I'm being told they're unable to restore my data.
Looking for support from the devs, and community.
Has anyone else experienced this? Trying not to get mad, as this is absolutely my favorite co-op game and the addition of dedicated servers meant I wasn't rendered unplayable trying to host a group due to host lag.
I'm... upset, and sad, and unfortunately the bearer of bad news for my friends in Canada and Australia that have made the global effort to have fully functional, automated portal bases on every planet.

Automated Fix for Fallout 76 NoRegionPing on Xbox Game Pass PC

To Fix the NoRegionPing error on Xbox Game Pass PC, you must copy the file Project 76.ini from the install folder found at "{InstallDrive}:\Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps\Fallout 76" and copy it to "C:\Users{Username}\Documents\My Games\Fallout 76" and then make it read only every time you intend to launch it. This guide will make a bat that automates it for you.
Image Guide: https://imgur.com/a/D1F4jAs
Text Guide:
1: Open the Xbox App, right click Fallout 76, and click Create Desktop Shortcut.
2: Right Click on your desktop, hover over New, and click Text Document.
3: Copy and paste the following into the text document:
del "C:\Users{USERNAME}\Documents\My Games\Fallout 76\Project76.ini"
copy "{DRIVE:\Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps\Fallout 76\Project76.ini" "C:\Users{USERNAME}\Documents\My Games\Fallout 76"
attrib +r "C:\Users{USERNAME}\Documents\My Games\Fallout 76\Project76.ini"
"C:\Users{USERNAME}\Desktop\Fallout 76.lnk"
Replace {DRIVE} with the drive letter you have installed Fallout 76 onto, and {USERNAME} with your Windows Username.
If you don't know your windows filesystem username, right click any file on your desktop and click properties. Navigate to the General tab, and under Location it will say C:\Users{USERNAME}.
4: Click File and Save As on Notepad.
5: Set Save as type: to All Files, and name the file "Launch Fallout 76.bat". Save it to your desktop, and double click the new bat file to launch the game.
I hope this guide helped you out. Let me know if you have any problems and I'd be happy to help. If you have trouble completing the guide, contact me here or on discord (Ender#5544) with your Fallout 76 Install Drive Letter and windows filesystem username (first 5 letters of the email you used to make your microsoft account) and I will make a bat for you.

Amazon is a hub for other companies to use. The story is that OTHER companies have figured out how to game the amazon automated system to con customers. Yes, this is Amazon's fault for not successfully vetting their 3rd party retailers, but this makes it sound like Amazon is directly selling expired items which isn't exactly the case.

£400* budget build for my son, we're both pretty happy with it!

Photos here: https://imgur.com/a/67P8dz5 First build in ~20 years...I decided to get the best gaming PC little money can buy, for Christmas for my 11yo son -- and, in all honesty, for myself too :)
He was playing the likes of Minecraft, Roblox, and various Flash games online, on an old laptop.
The guideline for the build was: budget £400, best bang for the buck, cut corners where possible.
I got to have fun researching and building. The kid got a gaming computer, an understanding of what's inside the black box, and hands-on experience. We both had a great time together!
TL;DR:
AMD Radeon RX 580 (SH): £125 Intel Core i3 10100F: £76 Gigabyte mobo: £58 Seasonic S12 III 550W: £50 256GB SSD + 2TB HDD: £0 (see below) Crucial 2x8GB, 2666 MHz: £40 CiT Flash case + extras: £40 Mechanical keyboard: £22
\* Grand total: £411. Close enough!
Do you think there's anything obviously wrong?
The long story, piece by piece.
Case: CiT Flash: £35
Could have saved £5 on something even cheaper, but it's a really small price to pay for side and front tempered glass panels and 4 oh, so bling fans! The kid loved it.The metallic walls are super thin, as expected. It's fine, just don't use it to hammer nails.
For the price, it turned out to be great: adequate hidden space behind the right panel for "cable management" (euphemism for the jumble of cables, but hey, they're out of sight), 4 very RGB fans (but not addressable, they just connect to a SATA power cable and there's a button to change modes)Unexpectedly, even the wife loved liked it!
The 3 front intake fans were place very close to the front panel, but were easy to move further back inside the case for more adequate air flow. One exhaust fan in the back. Positive pressure FTW!
It even has metallic mesh dust filters on top (magnetic) and bottom (not). The one thing it does not have is a dust filter where it actually matters - the front panel, which brings me to...
Ghetto dust filters: £5
I ordered a pack of dryer sheets and a strip of magnetic tape to hold them in place, and covered the front fans. Sorted, and I tell myself it doesn't look too bad!
CPU & Mobo: Intel 10100F: £76, Gigabyte H410M S2H: £58
I was sure it will be an AMD system (Ryzen 3100) for the longest time, but was swayed to the blue side by lack of availability or price hikes. The cheapest Intel motherboards were also a bit cheaper than the cheapest AMD counterparts.
It had to be a gen 10 Intel, to have some chance of upgradability later, without replacing the motherboard too.
The motherboard was the winner of the race to the bottom. No frills. 2 RAM slots (but hey, no way to install the RAM in the wrong slots!).
I assume it will support the current line-up of gen10 CPUs and future gen11's.In a couple years it will be time to look at the SH market for CPUs. [EDIT: It appears I was wrong. Bummer.]
Also, "BONUS"! - cheaper memory, since this combo only supports RAM < 2666 MHz. Thanks, Intel! \s
RAM: Crucial 2x8 GB, 2666 MHz: £40
Again, cheapest one that fit the bill. Black friday-ish price drop. No XMP. Oh well, Intel won't let me use faster RAM anyway.
PSU: Seasonic S12 III 550W 80+ Bronze: £50
Could have gotten something cheaper, but remembered the advice of our forebears:don't skimp on the PSU, don't meet the fire brigade.Seasonics are widely regarded as some of the more trustworthy PSUs, and this had enough power for the GPUs that would fit the budget.
Of course it's not modular. Why pay extra for modular when I can spend 5 minutes of my life to secure the unused cables to the case?
At some point I could have bought the 650W version for the same price, but I had already bought this one and had opened the package.
Storage: Micron 256GB SSD + Seagate Desktop SSHD 2TB SSHD, £0!!
Gutted an old laptop for the SSD.
Remembered I had a box of PC parts laying around, unused for years. There were a bunch of hard drives, one of which I was thrilled to discover had a quite decent 2TB capacity, and it's a SSHD! (is that even still a thing?)
GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 580 Pulse 4GB: £125 + blood, sweat and tears
I didn't expect it to run an eye-candy game like Forza Horizon 4 at 3440x1440, everything maxed out, at ~55 FPS. I'm impressed. So far, of all Xbox Game Pass games we tried, the only one that gets choppy is MS Flight Simulator.
The GPU saga
I started looking at GPUs in November. Was considering a GTX 1650 Super (new) or a GTX 980 Ti (SH), each going for about £140 and wondering if that's a good enough deal.
Then December 1st came and the global GPU drama kicked in!"You thought £140 was too much for a GTX 980 Ti? How does £210 sound? HA!"
For weeks, I couldn't find anything half-decent within the budget. I saw "recently sold" cards at decent prices, but they were getting sold so fast I didn't stand a chance. Xmas was getting closer and I was getting desperate.
So I wrote a bot.
It scours eBay and messages me when cheaper cards show up. The 'buying' part is manual. There are definitely other people out there that have automated the process, because the time to react for a deal seems to be 1-3 MINUTES!
That's how I could get my hands on the RX 580 for an acceptable £125! Xmas was saved!
Peripherals
Dell ultra-wide monitor, 3440x1440, 60 Hz: £0
I happened to have one around.
Keyboard: Aula Assault RGB, mechanical, £22
This one was firmly in "splurge" territory, but the kid was chuffed with the crazy lighting patterns and the (way too) clicky blue (probably knock-off - but still) switches. At the end of the day, £22 for a new mechanical keyboard (that turns out to be built like a tank) is not a bad price.

MCC Development & Flighting Update - February 5, 2021

Found here.
Hey Friends,
Welcome back to another MCC Weekly Flighting and Development Update! This week has been one of investigations, planning, bug fixing, and prep work for our next series of flights set to begin soon-ish. Topics for today’s update are as follows:
• Workaround for “Because You Begged.”
• February is Black History Month.
• HCS Halo 3 Weekly Tournaments back on Feb 14.
• Quit Bans and when you can quit PSA.
• Flighting Update
Let’s get after it!
Challenging Challenges
Last month, Season 5 rolled out and with it a whole slew of new Seasonal Challenges. One has been causing quite a bit of grief unfortunately. After taking some time to investigate it, we have found a bug. However, we also have found a work around with some community help that helped us identify where the bug lives.
If you have been having issues achieving the Mister Chief helmet for Halo: Reach from doing the “Because You Begged” Seasonal Challenge please head over to the Halo Support site and check out the workaround steps for both Xbox and PC HERE.
Long story short, anyone who had attempted the old achievement from Halo: Reach and successfully completed it, the logic for the achievement still lives in the game and it was marked as completed and saved in your profile’s data. Clearing that data through the work around, now makes it so when you complete it, the challenge can unlock appropriately.
Please follow the steps in the link above and we will see you all rocking out in the Mister Chief helmets soon enough! Thank you for your patience and we will let players know if there’s anything else we see possibly causing a ruckus with this one.
For some eager beavers however, this workaround won’t impact everyone’s issue. There is another one scenario when the Season was changing over, roughly 300 players unlocked it prior the game update on January 27th. For the select few who encountered this, we have completed a manual grant of the Mister Chief helmet today, so you suit up your Spartan proudly with the Mister Chief.
Black History Month Nameplate
When Season 5 rolled out, we talked about a new nameplate players can acquire in the month of February for Black History Month. The time is now Spartans! Hop into game anytime this month and you will unlock the Black History Nameplate.📷
HCS Events
Later this month, weekly Halo 3 tournaments will be making their way back into MCC. On February 14th, players can jump into the action for a shot at $1,000 if you can keep up. Full details and how to register can be found HERE.
Quit Ban PSA
If you’ve quit out of a game either intentionally or unintentionally, you will receive a quit ban if you are within the first 50% of players to quit from your team. Current ban ladder for MCC:
• First offence: 1 minute ban
• Second offense: 3 minute ban
• Third offense: 5 minute ban
• Fourth offense: 10 minute ban
• Additional offences: 10 minutes
The “First 50%” means that if you are in a 4v4, that the first 2 players to quit on your team will receive a quit ban. However, after at least 50% quit, you are free to quit without a ban. There is a caveat where if a player doesn’t connect to the server and does not make it into the game, the automated quit ban service will not see them as ever being a part of the game. In that situation, the first 2 players to manually quit on that team will receive the ban. Moral of the story: don’t quit, but if half of your team has then you won’t be punished for doing so.
Flighting Future
Later this month we are currently planning to kick off our next series of flights. We have quite a bit of new content we are looking to get into your hands, but we are deciding what the right amount is and are still waiting to see what progress is made in the coming weeks.
If all goes well, later this month or early next month is when we plan to roll out our next public flight. Some of the items we are hoping (things can change) to have make it into this flight are as follows:
• FOV slider support for all Xbox One consoles
• FOV slider will no longer be locked when Xbox Series S|X devices are set to 120hz
• Additional ways to customize controls
• Additional Keybindings
• Mouse & Keyboard Support for consoles
• View Model Adjustments
• And maybe a new place and way to play
As we get closer, we will start sharing more details of when and what players can expect for our next flight. For the time being, please make sure all of your Halo Insider information is accurate and current. This includes if you have picked up an Xbox One Series S|X recently or new parts for your PC. Verifying your email address and making sure it's up-to-date is the only way we can contact you when the time comes to send out flighting invites.
Not yet a Halo Insider? No problem! It’s quick and easy to opt-in – just head HERE and enter your info. Make sure to opt-in for communications and complete your email verification. And, if you want to participate via PC, please make sure to include a DXDIAG hardware snapshot.
With that, I must bid you a farewell and a happy Friday y’all! As always, thank you for stopping by, and we will see you online!
Cheers,Postums

Critic Reviews

33bits - Rubén Rionegro - Spanish - 80 / 100
Empire of Sin offers a long and varied game that mixes management, strategy and tactical role with great success. With the 1920s and prohibition as a scenario, Romero games allows us to create our criminal empire in a fairly simple and addictive game, but at the same time deep in its gameplay and mechanics.
Cultured Vultures - Maxim Klose-Ivanov - 6 / 10
Though the foundation is laid for a great game with excellent presentation, style, and robust gameplay systems, the horrid user interface and vast number of bugs and glitches keep Empire of Sin from being a great game.
Digital Trends - Giovanni Colantonio - Buy
Empire of Sin delivers a clever, genre-melding experience that perfectly marries the world of 1920s organized crime with strategy gameplay. Bugs and a lack of combat speed or automation options can grind its pace to a halt, but it does a stellar job of putting the player in the mindset of a mob mastermind (or a gun-toting buffoon) with streamlined speakeasy management.
DualShockers - Ricky Frech - 7 / 10
Empire of Sin brings X-COM-style combat and in-depth strategy to 1920s Chicago in a package with tons of great ideas, but a lack of real focus.
Eurogamer - Robert Purchese - Recommended
A charismatic and enjoyable gangster sim that gets a bit bogged down in admin.
GamesBeat - Dean Takahashi - 4 / 5 stars
Empire of Sin has its bugs and some rough cinematic moments. But Romero Games pulled this project off with a team of just 30 people. For a game of its ambition, that seems like a small team. It’s pretty much an indie project, or perhaps “double-A,” compared to other games that are more polished but have hundreds of developers — or even more — working on them.
IGN Italy - Claudio Chianese - Italian - 7 / 10
Empire of Sin isn't a bad game, just a simple game, not deep enough to catch the attention of the genre's veterans. The organized crime theme is, as always, interesting, but it could have been developed better: as it is, Empire of Sin looks more like XCOM-lite with gangsters than a true mafia simulator.
IGN Spain - Álex Pareja - Spanish - 8 / 10
Fantastic mafia management game with a good combat system. Employee relationships make up for bad artificial intelligence and some illogical situations.
New Game Network - Josh Hinke - 60 / 100
Empire of Sin gets lost in a maze of design decisions that lead to an unfocused and sprawling game. The management and RPG mechanics cannibalize each other, meaning that neither works on its own and they definitely don't work well together.
PC Gamer - Fraser Brown - 49 / 100
Empire of Sin's many bugs, balance issues and competing systems undermine what could have been a novel mob management game.
PC Invasion - Jason Rodriguez - 6 / 10
Despite an overwhelming number of strategic options and features, many of Empire of Sin's mechanics just don't mesh well or they can be completely ignored. Playthroughs will feel roughly similar to what you've done previously, and it becomes a repetitive affair and a chore to see what else you could do.
PCGamesN - Joe Robinson - 7 / 10
It's hard to ignore the need for a little extra TLC to smooth out the edges, but the fundamentals of an arresting tactics-and-strategy game about building a criminal empire are in place.
Rock, Paper, Shotgun - Tom Senior - Unscored
The sight of a gang leader brutally shotgunning several enemy goons is only improved by some sick swing high-hat hits on an old fashion kit while horns parp happily. In these moments Empire Of Sin is a world I want to live in, but ultimately not a world I really want to manage.
Saving Content - Scott Ellison II - 4 / 5 stars
While Empire of Sin is not the first to tackle the era or the setting, but it is the best realized version out of any of them. There’s a few bugs to be rid out by Romero Games, but what exists is not detrimental to its enjoyment. Becoming something from nothing is no easy task on the streets of Chicago, and there’s plenty of views and systems to understand where money and resources are going, and how to improve your rackets if they’re not performing well. There’s exciting possibilities for DLC and expansions, but the existing roster will keep you busy well into next year. Empire of Sin blends several genres together for a mafia game that’s infinitely replayable.
Screen Rant - Peter Morics - 3 / 5 stars
All the chaos of a gang war, for better and worse.
Shacknews - TJ Denzer - 8 / 10
There’s a lot going on in Empire of Sin. Romero Games and Paradox Interactive build quite a hybrid of business management, character growth, and turn-based combat, and the 1920s Prohibition-era backdrop makes for an interesting story. The gang leaders are varied in so many ways between their business, combat specialties, and personal stories. Meanwhile, the overall flow of business expansion, hostile takeovers, and diplomacy or confrontation with other gangs also makes for a mostly engaging gameplay loop.
Spaziogames - Daniele Spelta - Italian - 7.7 / 10
An RPG, a grand strategy, a tycoon game and with a final touch of turn-based tactics, this is Empire of Sin, a game that skilfully manages to keep its various souls together.
TechRaptor - 8.5 / 10
A refreshingly deep and customizable turn-based tactics game lets you reign supreme in a 1920s criminal empire.
The Games Machine - Daniele Dolce - Italian - 7.5 / 10
Empire of Sin is a competent hybrid that borrows mechanics from tycoon games, turn-based tactics and RPGs. Unfortunately, the game is plagued by numerous bugs and glitches that risk compromising the experience.
Wccftech - Nathan Birch - 6.5 / 10
Empire of Sin is a sincere love letter to a fascinating moment in American history and delivers all the style, swagger, and Tommy-Gun-inflicted violence you'd expect. Unfortunately, somewhat shallow sim elements, pushover AI, and a serious lack of polish means this probably won't be your next great strategy obsession. That said, if you love gangster stuff, Empire of Sin might still be an offer you can't refuse.
Windows Central - Samantha Nelson - 4.5 / 5 stars
A seamless blend of genres and high replayability make Empire of Sin and excellent choice for strategy gaming fans.
