Black Nobility and the Vatican.

The black nobility is the base of the global crime syndicate that controls this planet. The black nobility or black aristocracy are the aristocratic families that sided with the papacy under Pope Pius IX after the army of the Kingdom of Italy led by the Savoy family entered Rome on September 20, 1870, overthrew the pope . and the Papal States, and took over the Quirinal Palace, and the nobles later ennobled by the Pope prior to the Lateran Treaty of 1929. Any family that produced popes for the Vatican is royalty. Most of the black nobility are Vatican royalty. The black nobility consider themselves sovereign princes. These families earned the title of "black" nobility for their relentless unscrupulousness. They used murder, rape, kidnapping, robbery and all kinds of deception on a large scale, without resisting the achievement of their objectives. The black nobility were the families that financed and created the holy corporation of the Vatican with the aim of imposing world slavery as a necessary institution, with the sole belief that some are born to rule and others to be ruled. The idea that certain families were born to rule as an arbitrary elite, while the vast majority of a given population is condemned to oppression, servitude, or slavery became the theological position of this elite. The "New World Order" is an attempt to take control of society by these fascist families with the purpose of the total slavery of humanity.
The Vatican is an imperial nation and is the largest empire in this world. The Vatican City, or the Holy Vatican Corporation, officially the Vatican City State, is a nation that operates as the largest intelligence network in the world. The Holy See is the "All-Seeing Eye" in society and a corporate entity connected to many other corporations and governments through papal and royal statutes. Archbishops and high-level bishops are the overseers of society within their districts and oversee politics, police, business, and organized crime. The same year that the professor of ecclesiastical law and practical philosophy at the University of Ingolstadt, Adam Weishaupt, created the Order of the Illuminati, was the same year that they created the United States as a corporation to run it as their private army and lead I dig the agenda of a "New World Order" for the elites, mainly, thanks to the infiltrated Freemasonry and directed by the Jesuits.
The New World Order is a conspiracy of lineage at the top. They are ancient and evil bloodlines that build and destroy empires for control through an order out of chaos. Royal and noble houses are corporate entities and claim to rule and own land, resources, and people. Landlords have always been the dominant owners of gold and precious metals. They empower and finance bankers and entrepreneurs to work for them through their corporate homes. They authorize and issue the creation of laws, agencies, the military, companies, and universities. They create and run religions and secret societies. They also finance and organize organized crime syndicates as if they were commercial enterprises. Some of the major royal bloodlines include Savoy, Bourbon, Medici, Glücksburg, Wittelsbach, Nassau-Weilberg, Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Romanov, Grimaldi, Orleans, Braganza, Habsburg, Hannover, Windsor, Saud, Thani, Khalifa, Alouwite , Zogu, Hohenzollern, Orange-Nassau, Bonaparte and Bernadotte. The Vatican City State is also a kingdom with the Pope of Rome as its monarch. The Black Nobility are the ancient bloodlines of the Papal States and they own the Holy See and the Vatican. They produced the first popes of Rome and held leadership positions in the Vatican from its inception. The Colonna and Torlonia still hold the hereditary positions of the Assistant Princes to the Papal Throne. The black nobility consider themselves sovereign princes. The Vatican is used as a central point of control and the Holy See is one of the oldest and most criminal corporate entities in existence. The Spanish Catholic Church is immensely rich, it has not suffered the crisis and also enjoys a true tax haven, being free to pay taxes, such as the IBI, works, companies, etc. The vast majority of the assets in their possession and on their accounts are completely opaque. This situation is illegitimate, unfair and presumably illegal, and this occurs with the complicity and consent of the public powers.
The Erlach and Brandi families are Swiss tax advisers who enable corruption, bribery, criminal financing, and money laundering. The Swiss Guard is the one that protects the Vatican City State. The Swiss cantons have been in contract with the Vatican for centuries and Switzerland is basically a papal state with the noble Roman saints claiming partial ownership. First time trip to my local casino (Storytime with 3 hands included)

Yesterday, March 7th, I went with my roommates' boyfriend to our local casino. I guess he wanted someone to go with him to pull him off the baccarat table after a certain amount of time (he told me he gets stuck there sometimes). Little did he know, I was going to be the worst person for that type of job because I was going to go find the poker room. We left at around 8 to arrive at the casino around 8:40, we set to leave at around 2 hours in.
First things first, we needed to stop at the bank across the street to withdraw from the atm. First, atm doesn't wanna spit out any money, it looks like we're running poorly already. Luckily there's a second one and after about 20 minutes we pull out some cash.
I tell him to pull out 300$ for me, because I know that's the max at the 1/2$ tables inside. We go across the street to the fabled Hollywood Casino Columbus. I recently turned 21 two months ago so I have my ID in hand and ready. While giving my ID to the door guy I asked him if I looked 15 and he laughed and said yeah.
After we're in, roommates boyfriend shows me where he'll be at, and then points me in the direction of the cashier as well as the poker room. I notice the place is super packed, probably typical of a Saturday night. I walk up to the cashier line having no idea what I'm doing, I sit in line for about 5 minutes and noticed nobody was getting any chips from these people, so I figured I was in the wrong line and awkwardly stepped out... I walk into the poker room looking even more lost and a desk lady puts on her customer service voice and says "hi sweetie what are you looking for". I tell her I'd like to get seated at a 1/2 game and she asks me for my players-card. Having absolutely no idea what she's talking about (yanno, first time here) I ask her what a players-card was and then she explains I have to go to the cashier's line to get one. (in the back of my head like, shit I was just in that line). So I walk back over to the line, sit in for another 10 minutes and then sign up for a players card. The cashiers were telling me about some type of first-time benefits and it felt like they were trying to sell me stuff so I started ignoring them. They gave me pamphlets with all the same information anyway.
After finally getting my players-card I'm now ready to play, but I decide to be a good person and go check on my buddy at the baccarat table before I actually go and get seated. He was down about $400 already after like a half-hour, the guy definitely gambles a lot though and he told me his limit was $1000 for the night. I leave him be and I go back to the poker room and the desk lady points me to the poker room cashier to get my chips and shows me which table I'm at. (Super helpful)
I get my 300$ in my rack and I'm ready to go. I'm not expecting too much from the session since it's my first one at a casino and I'm honestly expecting to punt off my entire stack. I sit down, however, optimistically because I know I have a decent chance. There are probably about 25 tables running all different stakes and I find out that there's a high-hand bonus every half-hour tonight that pays out $300. (Rooms packed, probably a lot of non-regular players). I sit at my table, the dealer asks me if I want in this hand and I told them I'll wait for the big blind. The guy to my immediate left seems very disgruntled and says "you're gonna be waitin' a while." I didn't realize but I sat down on my big blind, but I guess I had the option to wait for an entire orbit. (probably poor etiquette to wait for an entire orbit, my bad.)
After watching for the orbit, I notice all the stereo-types about 1/2 are spot on, I see the classic old-man coffee across the table and even an old-lady coffee. I think I sat at a great table because there's those two and a couple of people who just aren't topped off on their stacks. (about 3 people with 150$ stacks). I notice a lot of limping already and A lot of action post-flop on wet boards. I play for about 2 hours and pick up 3 memorable hands, all the rest we're just typical blind steals, C-bets after aggression pre, etc.
The most memorable hand goes like this;
I woke up with the pocket ladies in MP QsQh I raise pre to something like 8$ (small but there weren't a ton of pre-flop raises that I had seen yet, I didn't know what was their standard so I just went 4x)
Folds around to the button who "3" bets to exactly $20 Everyone else folds, heads-up, action back to me.
I elect to make it $60, I cover villain by about $40 (320ish to 280ish). Villain decides to flat call.
Flop comes;
10d 4x Qx (complete rainbow no flush draws) Obviously a dream flop for me, I decide his flatting range is pretty strong here and I decide to check it over to him.
Villain ships it all in, without hesitation I snap it off. I put the guy on a strong hand either Aces Kings or maybe an unlucky set of 10s that set mined. We flip the cards over and he has 8d9d (wow this is a great table). Turn comes another 10, boating us up, and Villain is now drawing dead. This win puts our stack up to about 675ish and happens about 40 minutes into the session.
The second most memorable hand is a hand where I had JsTs.
I'm Early position (maybe seat 3 on a full table) and I elect to raise to $8, I get 5 callers and flop comes extremely dry, I decide to check it over because I just missed and I fold after MP makes something like a $24 bet.
This was the point in the session where I think that my raise sizing pre-flop hurt me a little bit, 4x didn't exactly feel standard for live poker. (stack after this probably down to about 590ish 1hr20m into the session)
The third and final hand is a hand where I woke up with the fabulous Ts2h! I'm in the small blind and button puts on a $5 straddle, Not knowing what's going on because I hadn't been next to a straddle yet I look at my cards and look around the table, dealer scares me a little bit and goes "4 more".
(I panic threw in $4 cuz I didn't know the action was on me)
folds around to LP middle-aged Asian women who calls and the straddle checks. (I've been pretty tight, great image at this point).
Flop comes;
Kh 2d 7s
First action I check, middle-aged Asian women bets $12, straddler folds, heads up. I elect to check-raise on this dry textured board hoping for a fold, I make it $25 to go. Villain starts muttering to herself and talking a whole bunch, very visibly upset and has a relatively shorter stack of about $100 left behind. She makes the call.
Turn comes 6c
I check it over to her (probably should continue my bluff but this is my first one live in a casino)
She checks back.
River is Ac
I decide to lead out small here (looks like a value bet on a weak opponent and throughout the night I've only shown down the nuts) I stick in 26$ she thinks for a while muttering to herself about what I could possibly have and makes a read that I had nothing on the flop. She ends up folding and I take it down. (PHEW)
This puts my stack up to about $630ish 1hr50m into the session.
After a few more orbits, and some preflop raises where I just miss the flop, my stack dwindles down to an even $600, and I look down at my phone and see a "Wya" (Where you at?) text from my roommates' boyfriend. I decide to start racking up at this point and then I go pull him off his table where he's still playing baccarat.
He books a winning session as Do I, We get some food with the credit he's built up from going to the casino so much. And we leave victorious.
If you've made it this far, thanks for reading, and I hope this helps any first-time casino-goers in the future.

Thoughts on Martin Scorsese's The Departed (2006)?

I wanted to like it, but just couldn’t bring myself to do so. I’ve dissected and dismembered this movie with friends and relatives since its release in so much detail that I feel drained even before I begin this review. I have a funny relationship with this film. Despite pretty much enjoying all of Scorsese’s previous output and being a huge fan of crime movies, I can’t say The Departed really resonated with me. At first I hated it, then I warmed up to it, and then I went back to thinking it just wasn’t very good. After it had finished when I first saw it I just thought to myself well, is that it? There was no initial excitement when watching and no lasting impact after it was done. As sacrilegious as it is to say, is this Marty’s first boring movie?
I’ve actually seen The Departed more than any other Scorsese movie. These have been a series of failed attempts to work out just what the world sees in this film in order for it to justify its Best Picture win at the Oscars, its 85/100 Metascore and its general well-liked status in the movie world.
The Departed is a remake of the two year old Hong Kong hit Infernal Affairs (a superior film in my opinion) and concerns an undercover cop (DiCaprio) in an Irish mob in Boston and a mole in the police force (Damon) who attempt to weed each other out before they themselves get caught.
It’s 20 minutes into the film before any of this happens, or even the title appears for that matter. Before it does we get something of a prologue with Irish mobster Frank Costello (played by Jack Nicholson and based off of real life Irish mobster Whitey Bulger) narrating about his environment, the Knights of Columbus, JFK and black people. It’s the only narration we get throughout the whole movie and immediately after the Rolling Stones’ Gimmie Shelter is unleashed at full volume accompanied by short and slightly fragmented scenes of violence from Costello’s heyday and DiCaprio and Damon’s introduction into their fields of play in the film. It’s all a bit disorderly and has an amateurish feel to it, as if someone told a random fan to make a short Scorsese movie and they proceeded to throw all the cliches at the screen – DiCaprio, narrations, Gimmie Shelter, people getting shot in the back of the head, lengthy tracking shots, ‘the whole nine yards’ as police captain Queenan (played by Martin Sheen) would say.
If I was to find a rational explanation for the way the opening of the movie feels so detached from the rest of the film I’d say it’s because the start of the film showcases an older time, a previous generation. It was a time more wild and animalistic where the only surviving character of that environment is Frank Costello. It reminds me of Gangs of New York and the opening battle sequence, where the only person to come through the endeavour was Bill the Butcher. Everyone else involved in the battle had either died when the film’s main story happened or took their place in the new world of (somewhat) order and stability. It’s why the Butcher sticks out so much in the movie. Not only because of the terrific and wild performance by Daniel Day Lewis, but because he is essentially a caveman in an insurance salesman’s world and towards the end of the film even he knows he has no place in the new ever-changing America. Similarly, Jack Nicholson’s Costello comes off as someone who belongs in a different time away from the tuxedos and police warrants. It’s not only him though; many of the characters in The Departed come off as lions and wolves used to roaming the wild trapped in suits and behind wooden desks and piles of paperwork.
The jarring pacing of the film was a real problem for me. I had no sense of how much time had elapsed over the course of the movie and the one time a character had the chance to explain he merely shrugged “long time, long fucking time” which I agreed with completely. With a runtime of 2 and a half hours the movie is unable to match the brisk pacing of, say, Casino or Goodfellas and instead comes across as a dozen or so clumsily put together scenes in which characters talk tedious topics to each other, with the odd frame of unadulterated violence garnished in. I’m serious – while watching a Scorsese mob & cops film I was actually checking to see how long was left because I was so bored. There is no tension throughout the movie at all which made me unresponsive to scenes that were clearly meant to shock and awe. The dialogue is often vague and meaningless, and only of service when it is used to forward the plot. Take the scene between DiCaprio and Nicholson at the dinner, where they talk about DiCaprio’s father, school, sadness…all until I thought to myself what the hell are they talking about? To which, to my amazement, DiCaprio responds by asking “what the fuck are we talking about?!” Yikes!
The ambling and dreary nature of the movie might have been elevated by some decent acting. But despite the cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Alec Baldwin, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Ray Winstone and Jack Nicholson it pains me to say the performances were shambolic: DiCaprio was shaking, shrieking and squirming so much that it made Costello look like an idiot for not realizing that he was the rat in his crew, Damon looked like an awkward schoolboy as the ‘villain’ of the picture, Sheen seemed to be attempting to say his lines without spitting out his fake teeth, Winstone decided that the shooting schedule was the best time to start experimenting with every accent known to man, and Wahlberg’s profanity-fuelled, nostril-flared cop with little-man syndrome was so irritating that I hoped he would get shot in the head or thrown off a building. Ironically, he’s the only major male character that survives the runtime. Nicholson was the best of the bunch, bringing weight to his role where his presence is felt throughout the whole movie in spite of him playing an extension of his JokeR.P McMurphy characters. But even he, it seems, is somewhat sleepwalking his way through the film only waking up for the odd rat impersonation here and there. And nobody is buying that Boston accent for a second.
Sticking with the actors – something about the way the movie was shot makes it feel self-conscious as to who’s in it. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but as an example let me say that I knew that Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg would have a fistfight as soon as I realized that both were cast in the film. The camera often stays wide enough so that two A list can fit into the frame, like the scene at the dock with Nicholson and Sheen, or the initial bar scene with Jack and Leo. It’s like the film-makers are screaming at you “Look, Jack Nicholson and Leonardo DiCaprio in the same movie! Aren’t you blessed!?” It’s things like this that made the film feel as though it takes place in a ‘movie world’ and not the gritty urban real life as it tries very hard to show us.
Scenes lead nowhere and as already stated, there is no tension. Why are these characters doing this? Where are they going now? What is happening here? It’s as if Scorsese is aware you’ve seen all the cop dramas and is not going to use up runtime on things that he thinks you’ve seen, and instead wisely uses it on scenes where the mob leader doodles naked nuns or someone says “FUCK!” really loudly. Speaking of which, the profanity in this movie is horrible. Aside from Nicholson, the cast come off as cringe worthy when spewing out filth. Don’t take me wrong, I am aware the language is supposed to be vulgar and not elegant – after all, these are street gangsters. But swearing on screen takes a little swagger, something that most of the cast lacks, which made them seem like teenagers trying to sound cool in front of their friends.
Editor Thelma Schoonmaker adopted a frantic style that didn’t sit well with me. Some cuts ran for a spit second and we were constantly jumping from scene to scene, camera angle to camera angle. Maybe it was supposed to come off as sharp and gritty, but it just felt unprofessional and clunky. Maybe substituting Scorsese’s coked up direction, which undermined any possible nail-biting from me, for a more subtle but equally stylish director would have been better. I always thought the plot to The Departed would fit snugly into Michael Mann’s filmography. Most of his movies concern two me on different sides of the law and in this case he’d have the third dynamic of Frank Costello to use. Or even a fourth if Queenan was made into a more major character, as was the initial intention when Robert De Niro was slated to play him.
And don’t get me started on the plot holes. This movie is plot hole Las Vegas. It’s plot hole galore with The Departed. But I’m not going to go into that, otherwise we’ll be here all day. All I can say is the plot feels so flimsily put together that even as a standard Hollywood thriller with a forced-happy ending it still doesn’t work. And neither does the horrible looking CGI blood effects which killed any possible thrill the movie could have had in one of its most pivotal scenes. I was too distracted by how crap the blood looked to take notice of the fact that the main character had just been unceremoniously shot in the face dead.
Are we really supposed to believe that of all the Councillors in the city both the rat and the mole fell for the same one? Or question what use Costello is as an FBI informant when he is clearly the biggest fish in the sea? Or how nobody realized that DiCaprio is the rat despite being the only one with a past in the police academy and the newest addition of the crew? And what’s with all the flip phones? And why does Wahlberg commit a murder right in the middle of- wait…I said I wasn’t going to speak about the plot, so I won’t. I can hold it. I’m mature. I can keep it in. Yes I can. I can.
There are some positives. Quite a few, in fact. But the problem is that most of the good stuff was already present in the original movie Infernal Affairs which, at the age of 4 when The Departed was released, begs the question as to why Scorsese’s remake even needed to be made. And it’s pretty embarrassing on the Academy’s part that the guy who made movies like Taxi Driver and Raging Bull finally won an Oscar for this film, but who cares about awards anyway?
All in all, The Departed is not going to become one of my favourite movies. Far from it. It remains an oddity in Scorsese’s filmography in the sense that it’s pretty much his only movie that I dislike. Plot contrivances, bad acting and hyperactive editing can all be forgiven, but when a film is boring it has committed the ultimate celluloid sin. In my book anyway.

Columbus Weekend Recap

I'll give a quick recap of events:
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
We had a great weekend and obviously packed a lot in, as we tend to do. Columbus reminds me of Cleveland in a lot of ways (naturally), except (as we heard from multiple people), Columbus likes new things and doesn't seem to appreciate old/historic places much. Its quite the contrast to Cleveland where anything that's old is preserved and protected and often inhibits development/progress.
FRIDAY
We got into town and went directly to Hoof Hearted. We split a burger and fries, which was fantastic. The beer was OK. I really had my hopes up but nothing really tickled my fancy. Funny story, it took me until Saturday morning to realized it was a play on words. I was over enunciating Hoof Hearted instead of who farted.
From there, we checked into our hotel room. I won't say where because we had an significant issue with cleanliness in our room. We didn't ask for anything really special, they gave us a new room and a couple courtesy incidentals that we didn't even use. It was nice.
From there we decided to just bar hop around the hotel. We started at Barley's Brewing Company. We each had a beer and split an appetizer. We really liked the classic interior and great cheese. Then we went to Denmark. The drinks pretty good and we loved the staircase, even though we were a little under dressed. I had an Ol' Fashioned, she had a dirty martini. The last stop was Char Bar. Nothing remarkable about this place except that it reminded us of a local dive bar we've gone to for 8 years to drink cheap and dance all night.
SATURDAY
First stop was OSU campus to pick up my cousin for brunch. We went to North Star Cafe and the food was really good. We split a burger, salad, and bowl of soup. The price seemed a quite a bit high, even though the food was good.
From there, we moved to the Columbus Brew Adventure walking tour of the Brewery District. This was a great tour. There were 12 people in our tour group, plus the guide. We started at CBC and were given 2 flight-size beers each and family style loaded nachos, mexican pizza, and pretzels with cheese. From there we went to Rockmill, which specialized in Saison's made with well water. We were given 3 flight-size beers, along with a baked breaded and seasoned bowl with an egg, cheese sauce, and pepperoni on it. We loved the historic building, the appetizer was great, the beers were good, and we loved the atmosphere - even though the wooden interior caused my allergies to act up (old horse barns). From there we moved to Copious for 2 rock-sized glass of beer, a sour and a stout, 1 was from Platform - a Cleveland brewery. The space was really nice, but the owner basically was giving us a sales pitch instead of history lesson. From there we moved to Arepazo for a sugar cane cocktail and some sort of fried empanada appetizer? The appetizer was fantastic, but I don't care for tequila. The last stop was Brick. The basement atmosphere was incredible... would love to spend more time there. We were given another rock-sized glass of beer along with fried salmon patties and fried beef egg rolls (for lack of better term).
We had planned to go to Forno for dinner since the tour was described as "light finger food." It was far more than "light." So, instead we checked out the river front near the Supreme Court. That was a fantastic park and river front use across from COSI. Being from Cleveland, we have about 5% of our water front developed and is very disappointing when we see so many other cities and communities invest in such nice public/green space. We still flew the drone even though it was over cast. It was my first time flying for the season, so we didn't get a ton of good photos/video.
From there we went to Hollywood Casino. Nothing note worthy. We left with more money than we started with.
We ended the night getting some Late Night Slice pizza. I was craving it all week. The pizza was pretty good but the sauces just put it over the top.
SUNDAY
Breakfast was at DK Diner. We loved the atmosphere, loved the location.
From there, we decided to just walk around downtown for a little. Get a feel for the buildings, the architecture. We tried to find a winery for a bottle but had no luck.
We got back to the hotel and checked out North Market. I wish we would have known about this earlier. We would have went every day. It reminded us of a smaller West Side Market. We had some samples, bought some drinks, bought some food. I ended up buying a Make Your Own 6 (5) Pack and filled it with Land Grant and Wolf Ridge. We were proud to see so many Cleveland breweries represented.
After North Market, we went to Seventh Son. We are glad we went here last, because if we found it first, we wouldn't have gone anywhere else. The beer was really good, the atmosphere was fantastic. It was totally our type of a place, a "come as you are," place... a local start up, taking lemons and making orange juice. We bought a shirt and cup. We will be back, 100%.
On the way home, we stopped at Ariel-Foundation Park. This was a really cool area, especially for the drone. We flew for about 30-40 mins. We were hoping for a guided tour, but it wasn't in-season. We were hoping to get some more of a history lesson on the area and glass making. Unfortunate they just had some plaques with a line or 2 about the area or history.
We had a great time. Columbus is definitely a clean city, which we appreciate. It also seems your traffic patterns/roads are about as stupid as ours in Cleveland.
We are looking to plan an overnight trip in the fall sometime. The goal being to check out the Zoo, Curio, a nicer restaurant like Forno, and Park of Roses.
Thanks for the all the tips and helping to plan. If you guys ever visit up north, I hope I can help you guys as much as you did me.

About the Album:
If you’re looking for originality in your music, look no further than Fake History. We could go on and on about how letlive. made a spectacularly original album that is a refreshing break from the breakdown-chorus-breakdown formula that is used by so many bands today. After you listen to this album, you will immediately want to go to a show. Well, guess what? letlive. is even better live. Jason Aalon Butler is the living definition of a showman, a man that knows no boundaries when giving performances of pure emotion and commitment.
Now, instead of us giving you our track-by-track opinions, we realized that no analysis matches the words spoken by the frontman himself, Jason Aalon Butler. Since his words were too many to fit into the text limit in a self post, we strongly urge you to read this entire link. Please, please read this if you want to gain a better understanding of the album.
The following text comes directly from Butler’s mouth. Some highlights:
The Sick, Sick, 6.8 Billion
First, I would like to make the patrons of this magazine, and possibly letlive., aware that we are not "that" band. We're not going to stand behind anything that tramples on another doctrine of belief because that is the most common vice we exhibit as human beings - arrogance. We seem to feel that this universe is centered solely around our existence and never consider catering to anything but ourselves. Catering to our species and much more specifically, catering to us, the individual.
On a much smaller, but just as detrimental scale we have invented ways to marginalize others by way of regimes, labels, and belief systems. While religion(s) is included, one must be aware that this is not the only one. There is a much bigger picture and when we focus all of our efforts on one issue we become fanatics, whether you're falling to your knees as the presence of the holy ghost takes over your body or you're masturbating over Richard Dawkins’ latest lecture at an esteemed University on Youtube. The fact remains - you are falling victim to fanaticism. You are now foreclosing the bounty of alternatives that you could at least glance at before you subscribe to "the truth". We are, on the other hand, "this" band. The band that will illuminate that arrogance spiraling through our genetic coding and manifests itself in ambiguous warfare, unwarranted ignorance, and terrible fashion trends. Shout out to Tom Ford for keeping it classy over the years while the world was riddled with rue and dire international issues.
Muther
"The Scarlet Letter" meets modern America's marital statistics coupled with the wonderful world of neo family structure or what many believe to be a complete lack thereof. No matter how great the indiscretion, you must remember, we as humans will err. Just as the clichéd maxim put it, we must also learn from these indiscretions. Exercise an effort to understand- and continue forward. This is how we will become better humans. Emotion with tinges of logic, such a beautiful paradox. Oh, it's also about my mom... and some idiot that was not my father.
Hollywood, And She Did
Our culture seems to have a strange affinity for adversity. We have found a way to exploit danger. I don't mean to mitigate the worth in such classics as "The Last Action Hero" starring California's very own Arnold Schwarzenegger. I don't mean that kind of danger. I mean the danger that has somehow been omitted from commercialized violence, and sex, and drug pushing, and gun toting.
I may seem biased in this regard, but namely- that ghetto living. That hood life. That real shit. I am a firm believer that all of that danger and dirty tap water builds some rather unshakable and exceptional character. My only qualm with it all is that a lot of folks are only willing to go as far as their 62" flatscreen television to understand it.
(Growing up poor with our safety in perpetual question wasn't cool. Don't commend me or my crew for that. Instead, let's appreciate the fact that we were able to excel beyond that level and more importantly, let's imbue those methods to posterity)

Questions Answers
For my own curiosity, what is your opinion on the use of the terms Native American vs. Indian vs. American Indian? Also, what is your opinion regarding the Cleveland Indians, Washington Redskins, etc.? Edit: I mean their names, not how well do you think the teams will do this year. Simply put... I think all this "Mascot racism" stuff over the past 7 years or so is complete horse shit. If you want to call your team the Redskins, or Indians, Brave, Seminoles, Fighting Souix or even Ole Miss Rebels, I do not find it offensive. If you want to call a basketball team The Niggers, or WOPs, etc. I will have an issue with it. Washington Redskins is far less offensive (to me) than Washington Savages or Washington Squaws. As long as you don't give 'Native American' a bad reputation or insult the people, go ahead. I hope you see what i am getting at because it is exactly how I feel about 'Native American v. American Indian v. Indian'. Only issue i have with Indian is I get confused sometimes which Indian people are referring to. Even better, if you have a friend and you know what tribe they belong to it is best to refer to them by tribe as opposed to Native American, Indian, etc.
Well, that makes a lot of sense as to why there is so much animosity towards those who do work with human remains. Thank you for taking the time to explain all that to me. So, what areas are you planning on focusing on in your own studies? Are you going to focus on the Navajo, another tribe, or modern western culture/one of the many sub-cultures? I am hugely interested in the 'supernatural' stories and beliefs of South Western Tribes and hopefully validate/invalidate the superstitions of these tribes, then hopefully do the same with a handful of few remaining tribal communities in the world.
How much money do get for being Native American, if any? Also, do you have any body hair? Where? And how much? I am enrolled as both Navajo and Choctaw (Miss. Band). I get no royalties from the Navajo and probably never will simply because the Navajo census is way to large. As a Choctaw, they state I must be 3/4 or more Choctaw blood to receive royalties. My father receives funds from Mississippi Choctaw, but it isn't more than 6 or 7 thousand twice a year. As for the body hair, well, i have only slightly more hair now than i did when i was 10. When i TRY to grow my beard and 'stache it ends up being slightly patchy, short but with very thick and straight strands. I have some hair on my arms, bit more on my legs. Nothing on my chest, and the funniest treasure trail in the world, its literally like a dozen strands. HAHA! But i have known many Native females that have never had to shave their legs, ever!
Woah i had no idea native americans dont have body hair but now that im thinking about it i guess ive never seen a native american with a full beard. They are out there, by dad can grow a real nice beard but i can not neither could my grandfather (fraternal)
Very interesting! Do you do things like fish or hunt out of season? I do not sir. I am a very law abiding citizen. To do so would be very unethical (all man-laws aside) according to how i was raised. I do love to hunt and fish though. The 31st of May and 30th of June are deadlines for permit applications. I do love my guns and my bow, as much as I love all wildlife. I also hate beef steak, I feel I have been spoiled by the best venison on this green and blue marble. This makes Autumn the best time of the year for me! (ATTN. ALL READERS: This is my opinion and my life style, i do not mistreat or mutilate living beings, as such i ask all 'PETA' and 'Gun Politics' comments kept to self. EXCEPTION, if the afore mentioned topics/issues are presented in a respectful manner.)
Hmm.. I thought it was legal for Native Americans to hunt/fish whenever they wanted. Do you have a typical Native American accent? Because that's how I've been reading your posts. No, I have a typical accent, if anything it leans more towards Northern Louisiana and Coastal Mississippi.
No disrespect, merely my own ignorance asking here - It has seemed to me that Native Americans often choose not to integrate with the rest of American society. Is that true, and to what extent, and why? Why don't people leave to go to a city? Why don't they go to college when there are shortages of doctors and laywers - is there a lack of interest, or perhaps pressure against 'ditching your community'? Do you think that Native Americans' rights are being respected and properly represented in the government? Coming from Canada, do you know much about Canadian tribes' lifestyles and issues, and how would you compare them (aside from weather-related differences, haha)? I nothing about the 'First People' as Canada puts it. No disrespect, playful sarcasm is rough to translate through text. -When i was taught about my heritage it was mad clear that "We" have a very rich culture and language and when "We" lose those two things we lose who "we" are as a people. However, I have learned as have my older siblings that it is possible to live not in One world but in Two worlds. One being the traditions of our people while being very active in one's community. (This is from myself, people of the same town are raised differently. Please do not generalize too much) -I left for "the City" for a Higher Education, as did my three older siblings. My Father left Mississippi to attend Az. St. Univ. then joined the Marine Corp. In my family we all agree that options and opportunities are abound off the reservation. I personally am still trying to make my way to a position to legitimately aid my people in their hardships. My Brother has a PhD. in Microbiology and Immunology, my two sister are Nurse Practitioners and one of them is aslo a SSgt. In USMC. Other people may leave for marriage or the "glam' life they see on TV. Basically reservations can be a hard place to get ahead. That being said, education is poor. A lot of kids i went to high school and lower with (no matter ethnicity) saw very little incentive in competing High School much less Higher Education. With many being from very very poor families, drugs and gangs (crime) is an easy means to money. -I do not believe Native American Tribes are being respected or represented as Sovereign Nations should be.
Really interesting, thanks for your answers! No worries. Thanks for stopping by.
I'm a Black American (descendant from slaves) and I fell that Native Americans had it worst then we did because Native Americans had their land stolen, had several wars with the federal gov't, forced on reservations, tons of broken treaties and then the children taken and sent to boarding schools to remove their cultural identity. *Is it difficult to watch or read things about Native history without getting angry at white people? *How do you feel about Johnny Depp playing Tonto in the Long ranger movie? *How do you feel about people viewing all Native Americans as very spiritual? To be absolutely honest, I mean zero disrespect but i feel full disclosure is key in an IAMA, there is a shade of history on my Mississippi side that owned some slaves. I am sorry about that fact and in no way am I proud of it. As far as Hollywood goes they get it wrong pretty much every time, so i do not blame them. I do kind of resent Mr. Depp for playing an 'Indian' in an already super racist old time show. He was in the town I lived in for a while, while he they were filming that very movie.
Hi, Thank you so much for this AmA. I'm thoroughly interested in this subject, although I feel I know almost nothing about current Native Americans, and very little about pre-Columbus America. (I'm European, and learned mostly European history.) I have a whole bunch of questions, here's a few from the top of my head. What are the most important parts of your culture, to you, and how do they play a part in your life. Would you consider yourself 'spiritual'? - How do you feel about American society as a whole? - Did you read the book "Black Elk Speaks" (Link to www.cliffsnotes.com and if you did, what did you think of it? are there any good books/movies that portray the live and culture of Native Americans? - you mention problems with alcoholism and drugs, and give Meth as an example. What are your views on 'natural' drugs such as Peyote, and is used much on the reservations. (compared to other hard drugs.) - do you have any tattoos or jewellery that you wear regularly that could identify you as a Native American? Thanks in advance for any answers. A EURO!!! Y'all are the folks I was hoping for. (Navajo Point of View) (1)For me, and I believe others would agree, the most important parts of our culture is our language. The reason being, the Language itself relates to the area Navajos live(d) in. The most important reason language is so vital is many Native American Tribes pass knowledge including; history, morality stories, and most importantly the Origin Stories. When the language is lost all identity follows. On the subject of faith, I am an Atheist, though I do certain things out of respect of my people and the animals that feed me. This is a rough subject for most Navajos because Navajos are very superstitious. (2)I write volumes on my feelings of the American nation as a whole. (If you want to be a bit more specific on this subject i can try and answer more clearly) (3)I have read Black Elk Speaks, I feel it is more of an Ethnography rather than the personal interviews they make it seem to be. If you want one Ethnography, look for Keith Basso "Wisdom Sits in Places...". this show a great but dry interpretation of why language and landscape link with origin stories for some. Or simply why a mountain is called a specific name in Apache. As for novels I recommend authors; Vine Deloria, Sherman Alexie, Miguel Mendoza and Winona LaDuke among others. (4) I personally loved masculine when i was a few years younger. I feel as though a lot of people think every tribe uses 'drugs' in their ceremonies. The usage of peyote began in mid & northern Sonoran desert, but peyote seemed to migrate with European (in this case Spanish) 'exploration' Fewer tribes use peyote than you may think, so no, peyote is by far the least used drug. Alcohol, Heroin and Meth are the worst devils. (5) I where nothing that would identify me instantly as Native American from day to day, however When I do my suit on or a Tux, I will throw on a small Turquoise choker and a Turquoise and silver bracelet.
As an atheist and anthropologist any comments of 'Indian Creationism' (yes, I'm wikipedia0ing the crap out of this.) (Link to en.wikipedia.org. Indian creationism and their 'Creation Stories' is a huge part of every tribe. Just as with western Creationism, it was used to explain away many mysteries the stories also served as an avenue by which morality and personal conduct was taught to the children. I respect and am even amazed by these 'Creation' stories. Also, some tribes Creationism can actually be tracked and traced better than those of larger world religions.
Great! thanks for the book tips! If you have some link to some of your writings that you feel most proud of, I'd love to read it. But what I was wondering was your perspective on American culture from a Navajo perspective. - Do some Native Americans (i can imagine especially older people) still see the Americans as invaders. How do you feel about people proudly tracing their lineage to the mayflower, and the celebration of Columbus day and Thanks giving? Do you feel proud of the resistance your ancestor gave to the colonists? - What about Free market economy and consumerism compared to a more balanced lifestyle, with respect towards sustainability and nature. - What about the Red Power Movement? Would you like to tell a little about your Mescaline experiences. - what music do you listen to? - strange question, just curious. Elders still have a huge lack of trust in white people. Columbus day is fine, i won't expect people to not celebrate it however I personally find it offensive. Its almost like Jewish folks celebrating Kristallnacht. I feel everybody should take the time and learn your heritage and where you come from. I have very proud not only the resistance tribes created I am also very proud of the progress we have made for ourselves but we still have a long way to go as Tribes. -I like pretty much all genres excluding most of all new music like Dubstep and newer hip hop.
Do you think there might be truth to some of the claims, from a creationists point of view, like that the Indians might not have migrated over the Bering Bridge, and that the people on the American continent have been living there longer than, or as long as people in Africa and Europe? By following the movement and distribution of older Parent languages through the world, one can see the path of migrations of the tribes in the US. But I do believe this migration happened far earlier in human history than most people think.
Do you have experience with living on a reservation? Any interesting stories? What is the most common stereotype about Native Americans you'd like to debunk, and/or is there any stereotype you think is totally on-point accurate? I lived 2/3rds of my life on the Navajo Rez. and the other 3rds In New Orleans and the Pearl River Rez in Mississippi. As far as stories go, there are so, so many. I have personal stories of being in the stick and coming upon very very odd things. Ancient ruins, petroglyphs and stories of the supernatural. I can not really speak on stereotypes simply because there are so many assumptions that fly around. American stereo type is different from Non-American view. Too add to that, stereotypes trend for decades then a new stereotype trend begins and the cycle continues. What are some assumptions/ stereotypes are you familiar with, and i can answer from there.
OH i have a question since you lived in NO- in general, are native americans in NO okay with the mardi gras 'indians'??? Yea, most folks don't have an opinion either way. A lot of young Natives try to follow USA social norms so as not to stand out more than they already do.
Do you currently live on a rez? What's your occupation? How do you feel about people who claim their American Indian by 1/4? 1/8? Have you read Scalped? I do not live on the Rez. I am currently a Univ. Student working part time jobs. Claim it if you want, if i know you well enough as a friend i may question you about your heritage but everyone else, MEH. I have not read Scalped, i keep hearing about it over the years. Maybe a trip to the Library may be in order.
You'll have better luck finding it at a comic book store. Or you can pirate it, but you'll probably end up buying it if you do. It's basically The Wire on a reservation. Also, how do girls react when you tell them you're Navajo/Chocktaw? They are at first -> "Whoa! Really!?! I thought you were (insert random race)." And then they get curious, they start to ask about stereotypes, or what its like to go hunting "like a real indian"-Ms.Ex. Things like that. It seemed that in my University courses people where amazed, professors included, at how out-spoken and opinionated I was. A lot of Native American kids from reservations feel small, lonely and like an out cast. The University kids are the same, very smart people but too afraid to speak up or be noticed.
How is the Silver Star doing? I used to go there a bunch when I was at State, but now the place is just depressing. Is the Golden Moon still closed all week? Yea. Golden Moon is still mostly closed during the Weekdays. I have not been down that way since this time last year. The Silver Star is well the Silver Star, trying to stay above water. The water park in Pearl River is pretty much dead. But get this, last year a 3rd casino was opened up. PS. Hoddy toddy gosh ol' mighty who the hell are we... bim bam, flim flam Ole' Miss. by damn. GO Rebs!
I hate to tell you this, but ya'll ain't the rebs anymore. Ya'll are now the teddy bears. Damn shame ya'll didn't become the fighting Ackbars though. Ole Miss is the school of 80% of my family. I went to U. of Az. It pisses me off with all the 'Mascot racism' stuff that goes on. Admiral Ackbar was dope for the few weeks they had him.
I just looked at the new casino, and that is ridiculous. Putting it on I-20 would make sense. But that is so close to the coast, I can't see it drawing anything but locals, in a part of the state with poor and few locals. I agree, i totally agree. There is a lot of spending going on down there, unnecessary.
Do you get to go to college for free? HOLY SHIT!!! I wish, I did well enough, academically, to over come my parents' high income and still receive enough 'merit' scholarships (only two of which came from being Native American, which would only cover books) to pay for 2/3 of College, and once i claimed independent on my taxes i was eligible for 'need' based scholarships. So basically i went the route most Americans do.
Did you ever consider going to SIPI in Albuquerque? Correct me if I am wrong, but don't Indians get a free ride there, no matter what? I never cared for SIPI or the Johnson O'Malley program, i got a better education with less than 10k out of pocket paid. Academic scholarships is the way i went and I am happy!
Wait, I thought if you were a majority or certain % that you were entitled to a free ride? That is a big negative little buddy. Scholarships like that come from smaller, wealthier tribe. Check out the Pequot, now those kids get crazy loot. Being from such a large tribe (Navajo) with very, very little intake compared to its overhead as a Nation, 99% of scholarships are need based 1st, merit based 2nd and these scholarships are only a couple thousand a semester.
I didn't realize they were handed out by the tribe itself. I figured it was given away by the government or maybe school. The money comes from the 'Tribe' and Federal Gov't, but all recognized North American tribes are under the real of Federal Law, citizens mainly. So in the end the smaller the tribe the more 'non profit' intake like casinos, the more money the folks get in royalties. It all goes through the Federal Gov't.
Is Elizabeth Warren a native American just because she claims she has "high cheekbones" ... or does she need to have actual native American ancestors to be a native American? Linage is important, very important. People can claim what they want. Hell, my Grandfather, as a code talker in WWII was mistaken for Japanese because of his high cheek bones. Many Asian & Indo-China folks have high cheek bones.
So, just because someone's mom told them they were Cherokee, and they have high cheekbones, if the only people in their lineage are actual white people, then they're not Native Americans and shouldn't claim they are just because they have high cheekbones. Do I have that right? Almost. I feel any body can claim anything they choose, in this case Native American, just as long as they do not give 'Us' a bad name. To not be such an ass hole but it seems if you want to claim heritage it always seems Cherokee is the 'go-to' tribe. I will not look down on any one who claims native blood, i just won't take them too serious in the 'Indian" department.
Have you seen the movie Smoke Signals? How accurate is that? The run down town and mobile home trailers are pretty accurate. The rest of the movie is largely North Dakota fact based satire. However, the underlying family and cultural issues are very relevant.
I feel like in school i was only taught about native americans in a historical context. and at summer camps the bunks would use tribe names. that is all the exposure i had to native americans and i had really no idea about reservations until i was a teenager. I feel more and more that the reason I did this IAMA was not on a whim but more instead to inform. Do you have any curiosities or questions (don't worry about offending w/ questions)
What's proved the most helpful bit of wisdom to come from your cultural relationship with elder members of your family/families? Patience for all, observation of all and respect for all. Sounds like a cheesy paraphrase I know.
Indian Gaming...your thoughts? Here in MN the disparity between tribes is immense...age, wealth, health, death rates, drug issues, etc....your thoughts? I don't know where to start with Tribal Gaming. Personally I have always been against it for both Navajo and Choctaw simply because all the money I saw that would go in to those casinos is local money. The local people have enough issues as it is. Problem gambling has become a serious issue as a result. As someone who is familiar with Tribal Law I see how that money is supposed to be allocated and utilized but no law can deter corruption. Disparity is every where friend and this has always been an issue. I feel the federal Gov't is neglecting their obligations example being Indian Health Services.
A few years back there was a big deal about how the "Native American" gene marker had been isolated, and that it was now possible to get a DNA test to prove/disprove any Indian heritage and what percentage a person is. How does this make you feel? Does it cheapen the notion of being a part of a proud group of people, or is it a good thing that people can learn what makes up their heritage? I believe everyone should learn of their 'roots'. I can trace my family tree back many many many many decades, but this was important in both Navajo and Choctaw (Miss. Band) tribes, to help avoid in breading. Just as the Jewish folks have clans we Navajo also have clans. This was a way to curb inbreeding (check out European Blue blood). Today, with modern science, techniques and equipment I would love to see what ladder my Mitochondrial DNA ascended.
I've always known that linage is important for Indians, and to hear that it helps prevent inbreeding, it makes perfect sense. Any thoughts on why Cherokee is the "go to" for people claim as an Indian? I can only give you my ASSUMPTION on the subject of "Cherokee, the go-to tribe". I believe this happens because Cherokee is one if not the most well known tribes. To add tho my opinion i believe the fact that it is an East Coastal where much procreation was had, thus 'soiled' the Cherokee blood (as seen by some) . On an off note, Afro-American folks love claiming "Indian" heritage to explain their weaves. (this is racist and generalized, i admit wrong)
I am curious, what are your religious beliefs and what is your philosophy of life? My father was raised southern Baptist, my late mother was baptized as Catholic but my father and my father's best friend taught me traditions of the Navajo, however I AM AN ATHEIST. My philosophy, learned from Navajo tradition, is basically Be patient will all, observer everything, respect all.
I'm interested in Native language revival. Do a large portion of Choctaw and Navajo speak the language? What do you think could be done to improve language revival? Also, what types of problems do you see young teens and families face on the reservation? Do you feel there is something that can be done to alleviate these problems? Thanks for sharing your opinion! Language revival is some what of a 'myth' as far as i am concerned. A very small portion of both tribes speak the language fluently. (2) One of the biggest problems I have seen is lack of 'Quality' teachers. Teachers who instill motivation and academic confidence would be a great start, but the funding some of the schools on and near Reservations are lacking as the classes are overflowing, it is hard to say what could help.
Fellow Navajo here. What movies, books, etc do you connect with more as a Native American Indian that you suggest non-natives watch or read? I think some movies get closer than others to understanding what we are really thinking or what we believe. Are there some that are terrible and not worth the time? The Dine are not understood enough out to have a film done correctly, but i do have a friend that is trying to convey the low parts of the Rez. Sherman Alexie and Vine De Loria along with Scott O'Dell. These are not ethnographies, these are novels. They seep hard lives in their written words. Read a few, or even watch a a video titled after the book "The Art of Fancy Dancing" There are soo many movies not worth the time. The previous are better resources.
Do you hate the rest of Americans? Are you a US citizen? I was born American have technical dual citizenship and no, I do not hate the rest of America or the world.
On this note, are you learning either of the languages as an adult? Would you make an effort to have your (future) children learn them? I had to take 3 semesters of Navajo to be eligible for a few scholarships, but these languages are amazingly difficult to learn. If it is at all possible i would love for my kids to learn the languages when they are young.
Are you excited to see Assassin's Creed III and how Connor, portrays Natives? What's your feelings about ubisoft making a 1/2 mohawk, 1/2 english main character? All I understood was Assassin's Creed III.
If you have ever seen Star Trek: Voyager, what is your opinion on Chakotay? Sorry friend, I have never watched Star Trek... No need as a Star Wars die-hard! soooooooo FUCK YOU TREKKIE. HAHA. all love. (star wars)
What are your feelings about the game portraying a 1/2 native american 1/2 englishman character during the revolutionary war? Never played it man. Sorry, I just know the Assassin's Creed Title. Inform me, por favor.
It hasn't came out yet, here's some of the spoilers, Link to gamerant.com. I would have to experience it in more depth to make an opinion.
It comes out on halloween this year. My appeal to it is A) it is a game B) it has problems to solve that are almost on par with First 3 Res. Evil. (opinion from shitty gamer)
I looked and read a little further into the ACIII, concept of duality seems to be the overwhelming theme, or the conflict there in.
How does tribe names work? Does such a thing even exist? Collect yourself and try again...
Do native american tribes have some sort of naming customs that are only for the members of said tribe, kind of like a community accepted nickname other than your official name or there is no such thing and your only name si your legal name that is or could be as generic as say, John Smith. Nicknames are used just as most other people use them. There is nothing special or separate for Native Americans.
Do you belive in aliens :o? Fuck yes... the simple probabilities say it is pretty much impossible for there not to be at the very least one other intelligent life out there... somewhere.
What was it like growing up with Elizabeth Warren? I would not know.
Do different tribes have different nations, or is the Sovereign Nation just everybody lumped together? Every Federally Recognized tribe is a Sovereign Nation to itself.
What are you views on immigration? Do you feel like your NA lineage gives you some authority on this subject? Immigration is a subject i speak volumes on but to be short and sweet. I believe immigration is ok but as immigrants they need to take the effort to contribute the the growth of the country instead of sapping it senselessly.
Where I live (Southern California) the Native-americans and mexicans hate each other. My question would be why would you think this would be? Also what is one misconception about Native-Americans that the general public is wrong about? I would attribute the conflict between Chicano and Indio racial 'strong in numbers'. Sorry i am not too familiar with So. Cal tribe too much... the mix down there is so mixed.
Sorry if this was answered already, it's a long and interesting thread! You mentioned gangs...Are the still any rivalries between tribes? Your mother and father are from two different tribes, was there any pressure from their parents to marry within the same tribe/do you know of any examples of this? Violent rivalries are pretty much dead, but friendly competition is very healthy among US Tribes (basketball, football pow wows and such).
I forgot to ask you what do you believe in as in religion or belief system? I am an Atheist but i do things from 'traditional teachings' in respect of my people. But god and superstition, sorry I mean 'reason 'and 'why?' is what I have faith in.
Are you paid money for being full blooded indian? I have a friend who received a nice chunk of money for being full blood and 18. :) No, royalties are mainly for smaller, wealthier tribes.
How? How not is the better question.
Boxers, briefs, or loin cloth? Boxer.
I heard once from someone that the funeral tradition includes keeping the body for something like seven days. He said there was some ritual to it; would you be able to explain? For every tribe, there are differing traditions for each. For the Navajo, the corpse needs to be taken care of and interned withing 4 days of death. The family is allowed another 4 days to complete the mourning process. The remains of the dead are seen as taboo (more the thought of death is the taboo) That is why funerals are set this way. The number 4 is very important to the Navajo tradition. It comes from the cycles of nature. 4 seasons, 4 cardinal directions, 4 stages of living so on and so forth.
My great grandmother was 100% "full blooded" Native american. I have been trying for years to find out what tribe we belong to but have had no success. Is there a certain way I can go about finding out what tribe we belong to? What area where your great grand parents from start from there. The best way is start working your way back words, most importantly, speak with the oldest person in your family.
Is there a Native American entertainment industry? I see lots of books, films, etc. that involve Native American culture and characters, but most of it seems to be created or at least helmed by non Native Americans. Yes, there is. It has begin to bloom and flourish in the last 20 or 25 years. There are novels, movies, and dancing all put together and starring on a Native American.
How do you think your culture would have developed without the catastrophic impact of European arrival to the so-called New World? This is super difficult for me, I say this because European influence was unavoidable. Sorry I could not answer that more concisely.
The peace pipe, is it filled with tobacco, cannabis or something else entirely? Mainly hand picked and cured wild mountain tobacco and herbal blends. Smoke only during ceremonies and healing sessions.

If you’re looking for originality in your music, look no further than Fake History. We could go on and on about how letlive. made a spectacularly original album that is a thankful break from the breakdown-chorus-breakdown formula that is used by so many bands today. After you listen to this album, you will immediately want to go to a show. Well, guess what? letlive. is even better live. Jason Aalon Butler is the living definition of a showman, a man that knows no boundaries. Now, instead of us giving you our track-by-track opinions, we realized that no analysis matches the words spoken by the frontman himself, Jason Aalon Butler. Since his words were too many to fit into the text limit in a self post, we strongly urge you to read this entire link. The text comes directly from Butler’s mouth.
Key Tracks:
“The Sick, Sick, 6.8 Billion”; “Renegade 86’”; “Muther”; “We, the Pros of Con”; “H. Ledger”
